On the 9th June, we gathered some of our favourite marketing and advertising gurus to apply their big brains to a range of important topics for our annual [email protected] event, including: 21st century brands; creativity; technology and the dangers of really bad research.  It was morning full of stimulation and provocation which you can now watch using the player above and by clicking on ‘playlist’ you can choose the presentation that takes your fancy.

21st Century Brands (70 mins)
Three winners of this year’s IPA Excellence Diploma - Scott Brenman, Group Strategy Director, MEC; Susanna Cousins, Strategist, MEC and John Scott, Strategy Director, Drum – told us their beliefs about being a 21st century brand.  (Click the "Download" above to download the full papers)

Their summaries  were followed up by a debate with Sara Bennison, Chief Marketing Officer, Nationwide Building Society, Mark Earls, Herdmeister of Herd Consultancy and Rian Shah, Managing Partner, Strategy at OMD UK, on what they think it means to be a 21st Century Brand. Chaired by Lindsey Clay, CEO of Thinkbox.

Soapbox (20 mins)
Ben Page, CEO of Ipsos Mori, highlighted the real and present dangers of letting poor research into the world and how to spot it – and stop it.

Creative Exchange (46 mins)
Kate Stanners, Global Chief Creative Officer of Saatchi and Saatchi and Peter Souter, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of TBWA talked to Tess Alps, Chair of Thinkbox, on how the two creative worlds of TV programmes and TV ads are learning from and influencing each other.
