Behind the scenes of John Lewis ‘Buster the Boxer’
The tradition of great John Lewis Christmas ads continues with this heart-warming classic. The ad tells the story of a dad assembling a trampoline in the garden on Christmas Eve while his daughter sleeps. While the family sleeps, local wildlife play on the trampoline while Buster, the dog of the house, looks on enviously from indoors. On Christmas morning, when the doors are opened to allow the little girl to run to the trampoline, Buster races to it and beats her to the first bounce.
This excellent making-of gives an insight into how complex animation, an orchestra and and set design work together in this great ad. In it we hear from the award winning team at adam&eveDDB and Director Dougal Wilson. You'll hear about the aims of the ad, challenges encountered and random facts such as Buster is both a real dog and an animated double.
